The Power of If

If.

Two letters;

small, tiny letters,

the ninth letter and the sixth letter

separated by three letters in the alphabet,

three being a magical number.

And if anything,

doesn’t if add a bit of just that?

Magic

to any and every sentence,

the possibility of something unknown or unexpected.

“This is love” compared to

If this is love”.

“I care for you” compared to

If I care for you”.

“I hate you” compared to

If I hate you”.

All of a sudden, everything is turned on its head

because of a soft word,

minuscule, really,

but with the ability to knock down everything we thought was true

to pave a way for the unexplored region of

what if.
